Pass Plus is a voluntary scheme that offers benefits to

  • Newly qualified car drivers - safer driving and discounted motor insurance
  • Instructors -opportunity to help new drivers develop their skills and knowledge
  • Insurers - fewer claims and less expenditure
  • The general public - safer roads

The Scheme - Pass Plus is a six -module training syllabus designed by the Driving Standard Agency to develop the skills and knowledge of newly qualified drivers and broaden their driving experience.   The elements consist of town driving, driving in all weathers, driving out of town and on rural roads, driving on dual carriage ways and finally on driving on motorways. there is no test involved in the pass plus scheme

Financial benefits -   there are many major insurance companies out there who offer substantial discount to newly qualified driver who have successfully completed the pass plus scheme - a current list of insurers can be found by visiting . you may find that the discount received more than covers the cost of the course to add to this  on occasion both Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire Councils offer grants to all those new drivers who complete the pass plus scheme within the first 12 months of passing their test.
